Heather's Yoga

Heather is a yoga teacher certified by the British Wheel of yoga. She has undertaken a three-year Hatha training course and has been licensed as an instructor for over 20 years. In that time she has been teaching regular yoga classes and workshops.

Her two main yoga influences stemmed from practicing with both Ashtanga and Iyengar instructors; these two very different styles of yoga inspired Heather to provide classes which focus on both the careful alignment of the body and soul. She also likes to include aspects of yin yoga into several of her classes

She teaches gentle yoga flows and the importance of how to use the breath correctly. This in turn has a positive effect on the body and mind.She has done further studies of different types of yoga as well as the philosophy and practice of yoga. 


She encourages her students to concentrate on both form (bodies and tissues), and formlessness (our breath, energy channels and mind states).

 As students learn to keep their yoga practice safe and learn postural integration, their body based experience becomes more joyous and healthy and the postures more fun to inhabit.

With skillful guidance, Heather believes yoga practitioners become not only interested in the yoga asanas (postures) but in the inner calm and joy that yoga can offer.


Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga; its essence should be taught. 

Paying attention to the fluctuations of the breath, noticing how small adjustments and fine tuning of each posture can help the physical body and the way yoga practice can change feelings in the emotional body.

One must recognise that space in the mind and the integrity of the breath are all an important part of yoga.

With yoga we try to re-establish our natural wholeness, balance and well being, gain more vitality and a healthy body and mind.

Heather believes that by practicing yoga, it becomes less about the shape of your body and more about the shape of your life. Heather’s classes are carefully guided and fun to be part of.
